In her lecture, Ewelina Szpak, a researcher in the social history of medicine, will discuss the sources of the long-lasting but internally evolving taboo of cancer and how it has influenced the treatment process, the perception of patients and the individual experience of illness by tracing the significant changes in the social perception of cancer and oncology patients in the second half of the 20th century. In this workshop Szymon Adamczak will share about his personal, artistic and relational experience with HIV through the process of making and re-staging iterations of his performance "An Ongoing Song".
